What we handle in a house

Most residential calls fall into one of three buckets: something stopped working, something is unsafe, or you're adding something the existing system was never sized for. All three are routine for us.

• Troubleshooting dead outlets, dead circuits, and breakers that trip repeatedly
• Panel replacement and service upgrades, including 100A to 200A conversions
• Rewiring older homes, including knob-and-tube and ungrounded two-prong circuits
• Kitchen and bath remodels — dedicated circuits, GFCI and AFCI protection
• Recessed lighting, ceiling fans, under-cabinet lighting, and fixture replacement
• Dedicated circuits for hot tubs, well pumps, workshop tools, and window units
• Whole-home surge protection at the panel
• Outdoor receptacles, landscape lighting, and detached garage or shed feeds

Older Indiana homes

A lot of housing stock around here predates modern electrical loads by fifty years or more. A 1950s house was wired for a refrigerator, a radio, and some lamps. It was not wired for a microwave, a dishwasher, two televisions, an air fryer, and a car in the driveway that wants to charge overnight.

That mismatch shows up as nuisance tripping, warm outlets, or lights that dim when the furnace kicks on. Sometimes the fix is one dedicated circuit. Sometimes the service itself is undersized and the panel has to be addressed first. We'll tell you which one you're looking at, and we won't sell you the larger job if the smaller one solves it.

What it costs

Simple, well-defined work can often be priced over the phone. Anything that depends on what's behind the drywall gets looked at first. Either way, you'll have a written scope and a written price before an electrician starts, and we don't change the number partway through without stopping to talk to you.
